![]() ![]() Two years ago, AR Rahman introduced his son, AR Ameen with this devotional song, in OK Kanmani album, that he uses again for OK Jaanu album. The use of Raga Darbari makes it stand apart from the rest, and makes Saajan Aayo Re the best song of the album. Naane varugiren was one of the best songs of the original and if I am not wrong, the song actually sounds better in Hindi than in Tamil, thanks to Gulzar's lyrics and Jonita Gandhi's silky voice. This is a song that Gulzar's inclusion in the album makes special meaning, as the lyrical maestro spells magic with his pen here. The plethora of singers used here - A R Rahman, Kaly, Hard Kaur, ADK, Shashaa Tirupati, Ashima Mahajan, Paroma Das Gupta - may look like too many cooks, but the broth has not been spoilt here, with each singer bringing his/her special something to the song. ![]() So I am glad that Rahman borrows this gem of a composition that merges a romantic track with rap, and gives you a totally fun number. Kaara Aatukara was my fave track in the original album, and I am sure, for a lot many as well. Could have avoided the over-usage of auto tuning here. As a pure composition though, while the original song was an okay composition, the new song doesn't work much wonders either. It is one of the songs that integrates itself seamlessly into the background of a scene, and make you go with the flow. A must on your playlist!Īnother score that Rahman takes from the original album. Gulzar's lyrics also doesn't feel out of place here, while Rahman goes easy on the orchestrations, letting Arijit's voice and Gulzar's words take precedence. It is quite fortunate for Arijit, as there will be no comparisons and he is in quite a safe place. Seriously Arijit Singh, do you ever sleep? In one of the better romantic songs composed in recent times, Arijit Singh is in top form in a song that is completely original for the Hindi version. AR Rahman takes the responsibility of crooning this catchy number along with Srinidhi Venkatesh, though Gulzar's 'trying to be youthful' lyrics is still taking some time for me to warm up to. ![]() The first song of the album is Hindi version of the popular song, Mental Manadhil. Then there is also the reworked Humma Humma song that has caught the eye of controversy, where many felt the remix was quite unnecessary. OK Jaanu has music composed by AR Rahman again, who uses a few tunes from the original, this time the lyrics are being penned by the legendary Gulzar. But then, that's my job and that I have to SHIFT + CTRL + DEL all the impressions I have about the Dulquer Salmaan - Nithya Menen starrer that released in 2015. Rapper Badshah also penned his own rap lyrics and adds something new to the song while Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor’s sensuous chemistry and dance takes the Humma song video to another level. As a person who enjoys both South and Bollywood music, it wasn't easy for me to review the music for OK Jaanu, without harking back to the mesmerising score for OK Kanmani that AR Rahman has provided. The new Humma Humma song from OK Jaanu is recreated by Badshah and Tansihk Bagchi with vocals by Jubin Nautiyal, Shashaa Tirupati. The Humma Song Lyrics from OK Jaanu: Humma Humma Song Starring Aditya Roy Kapur, Shraddha Kapoor is recreated from Hamma Hamma from AR Rahman’s Bombay (1995). ![]()
